Get wrecked, Tinder: New study reveals wild places people are finding dates outside ‘the apps'

ngl, I cbk to make the switch!

Forget swiping left and right on dating apps, apparently, LinkedIn is where it’s at to meet your next potential date.

In the plot twists of all plot twists, a new DatingNews survey reveals that loads of people in the US are scoring dates in totally unexpected ways, including on the networking platform.

But wait, LinkedIn? Isn't that where job hunters and the profesh hang out? Turns out, business and pleasure can do a bit of mixing and mingling.

It reveals that 52% of guys, 51% of gals, and 52% of gender-neutral peeps surveyed have snagged a date this way.

While LinkedIn is usually used to make connections in the world of biz, 61% of people surveyed aged 35 to 40 have found a date through LinkedIn, beating out the likes of boring old work events where only 33% secured a date. Maybe us younguns can learn a thing or two?!

Of course, DatingNews suggests keeping it profesh when you're sliding into those DMs on LinkedIn -no need to come on too strong. But if you're vibing with someone during a business chat, why not suggest a cheeky date?

The survey also includes other unexpected places that have proven to spark some romance.  From the language-learning app Duolingo (24% success rate) to even the gym (31% success rate), love seems to be in the air everywhere.

While most of us will probably stick to our usual go-to apps like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge, it’s interesting to know that there might just be a possible connection lying within your LinkedIn network.
