Hey guys, keep it on the down low, but Fred Again is in New Zealand!
Yesterday, he touched down in Wellington and announced a show at Waitangi Park. It’s the first time he’s back in the city since around this time last year when he performed a surprise gig at Shed 6.
He was meant to perform in Auckland the day after, but the floods got in the way so he stayed in Welly and decided to hit a pub quiz. He joined some locals for a great night and now, 14 months later, he met up with them again.
“We’re about to the band back together,” Fred posted on his IG story at around midnight. “And by band I mean the Wellington locals quiz team at nowhere other than the Welsh Dragon - ‘the only Welsh pub in the Southern Hemisphere’.”
Fred DMed the quiz team group chat as soon as he landed in Welly. “Wassup dream team,” he said. “Anyone fancy a pub quiz tonight?”
And fancy one they did. Fred and the gang seemed to have a ball of a time, having some beers, singing Miley Cyrus songs and, of course, quizzing it up.
It’s unclear how Fred’s team performed, but the pub was stoked to have him back.
“We love it when old friends drop by to say hi,” they said in an IG post. “Fred Again is back in Wellington and back to do our pub quiz for the second time.”
“Cheers for a brilliant night Fred, it was an absolute pleasure having you here again. Anyone who got tickets for Waitangi Park on Friday is in for a real treat.”
Ain’t that the truth? The rush for tickets yesterday was insane, with them selling out around half an hour after the Ticketek page went live.
Hopefully, Fred hits other cities and towns in NZ, not only for some shows but also to test his mettle against every Kiwi who rates their pub quizzing abilities.
