MAFS AU 2024's Natalie and Collins expose what really went down before they left the experiment

“I couldn't help but wonder, is she really up for this experiment?"

MAFS AU 2024‘s Natalie Parham and Collins Christian have spilled on why their rocky marriage was so short-lived on the show - and apparently, there were a few crucial moments that we didn't get to see on telly.

ICYMI - After a tough watch at the very first commitment ceremony, Natalie wrote “leave” while Collins thought they could make it work and penned “stay”.

If you’re not familiar with the rules of the experiment, if one person writes “stay”, the couple will continue for another week.

Unfortunately, the connection wasn’t able to be saved, at least on Natalie’s end, and she decided to call it quits for good - but not before slamming Collins for an “Oscars performance”.

"I can't communicate with someone that talks to me like we're on the set of 'Neighbours' or 'Home and Away',” she said on Monday night’s ep.

Now, Natalie has revealed there was an on-screen moment that didn’t make it to air, and it all went down during their last moments on the show.

“I wrote him a letter so he couldn’t use my grief against me. I said: ‘I wrote this letter with my mum and sister and after I’d spoken to a psychologist. So I was in my best frame of mind when I wrote this letter, and it still applies right now’,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

They went round and round in circles about the future of their relationship until Natalie finally put her foot down.

“That’s why I was like, ‘I’m done, there’s no connection here, I can’t make a connection with you, and I never will. You need to leave and walk out that door right now,” she added.

“I gave him a good old pat on the back and shut the door.”

Natalie dropping this bombshell follows an insider's claim that the pair got removed from the show to protect their mental health.

According to several sources, Natalie faced a tough time from the get-go, dealing with grief and homesickness.

Collins chatted to Aussie's KIIS FM, confirming that Natalie's dad had passed away just five weeks before they exchanged vows.

“I couldn't help but wonder, is she really up for this experiment?" he recalled.

He also confirmed that Natalie's mom was battling cancer during filming, and producers had to fly in her sister every weekend to provide support.

Since leaving the show, Collins has done some serious reflecting on his behaviour, telling Kyle & Jackie O he doesn’t blame the audience for calling him fake.

“I’ve taken a beating for coming across as fake, dismissive, not there for the right reasons,” he said. “I absolutely sucked at times.”

He admitted: “I wasn’t supporting [Natalie], using my words or being a loving husband.”

Collins also set out to fire back at any question of him chasing fame on the show. "I'm not an actor,” he denied.

Although he has had acting gigs in the past, I think it's safe to his “Oscars performance” on the show has put that rumor to rest now... well, mostly.
