Y2K trends we totally forgot about, but are making a comeback in 2023

ok but the new versions of these products are so fetch!

The early 2000s are back baby, but don’t panic, it's not just limited to the dreaded return of low-rise jeans and platform sandals.

Y2K trends are back in full force, from hair accessories to flip phones and even the iconic fashion choices of films like ‘Mean Girls’.

We’ve gone from hair-curling wands thicker than a Kardashian to the narrowest yet!!

Gone are the days of using a pencil and a straightener for 3-hours to achieve the perfect curl - yes I have been there -  The curling wand has become increasingly popular again as people are looking for new ways to style their hair while still keeping the “effortless” tussled look.

If you’re looking for the tightest curl, I’ve heard the GHD curve-thin curling wand is the tool to reach for.

With a 14mm barrel, your curls should last the distance and the best part about a tight curl is how long they last, and that’s more than your ex can say!

Another trend that has resurfaced is the trusty ol’ flip phone. With smartphones releasing at a rapid rate, flip phones may seem like a thing of the past. That’s where you’re wrong.

With people seeking to disconnect and simplify their lives, flip phones are great for anyone who doesn’t need all the bells and whistles of a smartphone but still wants to stay connected.

They also get extra bonus points for how freaking fun they are to flip open.

Check out this gal who takes her flip phone on a night out, those megapixels are enough to transport me back to my Nokia days.

Though, if you’re not able to make the switch back, Samsung is keeping the nostalgia in mind with their Z4 flip phone - tell me you’re not tempted to chuck a few puffy stickers on the back of this bad boi!

Last but certainly not least, we’re going full steam ahead on the Y2K fashion train, and honestly, I’m happy to stay here a while.

Baby tees, cargo pants, headbands and claw clips have all made their well-deserved comeback.

Baby tees were a staple of the early 2000s and are back and better than ever. They’re literally everywhere!

Paired with high-waisted pants or a mini skirt, these tees are the perfect way to show off your midriff.

If you’re looking for pants, let me point you in the right direction —> Cargo pants! with their relaxed design and roomy pockets, are both practical and stylish. They can be dressed up with a pair of heels or dressed down with sneakers for a casual look.

May I suggest the daddiest of dad shoes… The New Balance 530.

TikTok has been going wild for these sneakers and for good reason! Who doesn’t love a comfy, casual style?

The aesthetic is all about looking cute, but feeling comfortable at the same time!

All of these are a blast from the past, so, embrace the nostalgia and give these trends another go. Who knows, you might just fall in love with them all over again.
