Taylor Swift has hard-launched with NFL player Travis Kelce by heading along to one of his games and now fans are convinced he is THE ONE for our gal Tay.
So while he may not necessarily be her type, there are a few reasons why Tayvis, ahem, Travlor (yes, I just made those up) might actually make more sense than we initially thought.
But first let’s go right back to the beginning, you know, so we’re all caught up!
The singer was first romantically linked to the NFL sports star after he watched her ‘Eras Tour’ concert at the Kansas City Chief’s home stadium.
Travis admitted he was so impressed by Taylor's performance that he asked to meet her backstage after the show, and joked about trying to give her his phone number.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally. But it was an unbelievable show. Kansas City showed out,” Kelce revealed on an episode of his New Heights podcast in July. “Everybody was dressed in pink and purple, going crazy for her.”
Travis added to the romance speculation when he admitted he had invited her to watch a Chiefs' home game.
In an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Travis said: "I threw the ball in her court. I told her, you know, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead. You might have to see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit'."
"We'll see what happens in the near future."
Welp, that we’ve seen. Today, Taylor was caught on camera cheering loudly as she watched Travis’ team take on the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium - obvs!
Taylor looked to be in full support as she sat beside Travis’ mother Donna Kelce in one of the stadium's luxury suites.
Tell me that doesn’t scream cosying up to your future in-law… STAWP!
Oh, and the pair have just been spotted leaving the stadium together, so there’s that.
As we know Taylor’s recent exes all have one thing in common - no, not being able to say they dated the KWEEN herself - they’re from the UK
We’re talking Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, Joe Alwyn and most recently her short fling with Matty Healy.
So, is this hunk from the USA the key for Tay to rid her seemingly cursed run with English guys? The Swifties seem to think so.
In the Fauxmoi Subreddit, a thread of positive Swifties was singing the praises of Travlor/ Tayvis (I still can’t decide which has a better ring to it).
One user wrote: “I can’t believe this is actually for real but at the same time I can?? Girl hasn’t dated an American in over 10 years it’s been only British men lol,” before adding: “Travis does match her energy tho and was openly a fan of hers so I can see why she’d like that.”
“This is going to be a case of : You date your type for years and years with no success. You branch out of your type and end up marrying the guy,” said another confident fan.
However, the Debby downers joined the chat, sharing that they think this may all be a little too quick to tell if there is a spark between the two.
“I think it's PR on both parts and am totally Ok with that. They know how to handle it and I doubt anyone's feelings will end up getting hurt.
Another added: “I know everyone's relationship is on its own timeline, but I feel like Taylor is one of those people who loves rushing into relationships and getting close with her SO's family quickly.”
I guess, we’ll just have to wait and see if/when these two decide to actually confirm their status. For now, though, I’ll keep workshopping those ship names.
