In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that international pop sensation Harry Styles will have to fill out the 2023 New Zealand Census.

The 27-year-old British singer is set to take to the stage at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on the night the Census is due to be filled out.

The Census Twitter account was replying to a question posed by user @coupdemain who asked the important question "will @harry_styles also have to do the census on march 7th with the rest of new zealand 🤔"

In reply to the question, the Census Twitter account emphasised that all individuals in the country on Census day are required to participate in the survey.

"Everyone who is in Aotearoa New Zealand on census night (Tuesday 7 March), needs to be counted in the census. This includes tourists, visitors, and former members of One Direction," the reply read.

The reply also included an image of Styles sitting at a table with an illustration of a census paper added in front of him, lovingly rendered in fuchsia in Microsoft Paint.

While it is not uncommon for visitors to New Zealand to be included in the Census, Styles' inclusion has caused quite a stir among fans, it is also yet to be seen if Styles will actually complete the Census during his tour of New Zealand.

The Census is conducted every five years and is designed to provide a comprehensive snapshot of New Zealand's population and demographics, and is used to inform policy on issues such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

If the pop star completes the survey it is sure to add a unique twist to this year's Census, and fans around the world will be eagerly awaiting the results to see if he made any impact on the country's population statistics.
