Yikes to the price tag, tho.

Apple’s next iPhones will come with a different charger port, a shiny new button, a new camera (of course) and more features that are “next level”.

Available in Aotearoa from September 22, the new range includes four different models: the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The cheapest model (iPhone 15) starts at NZ$1,649, the Pro will cost NZ$2,099, and the Pro Max is a hefty NZ$2,499.

They will all include a USB-C charging port: That’s the oval-shaped charger that goes with a lot of Android phones, accessories and vapes. You’ve probably already got one lying around your home.

Apple has added a new button to their latest models. The action button, located where the current mute switch is, will be able to do “almost anything you want”. You can assign it to open your camera, activate your flashlight, get a voice memo going, or do a whole bunch of other stuff. It won't make him text you back, though.

The camera, as is iTradition, has received an upgrade. All models come with a 48-megapixel main camera. For the iPhone 14, only the Pro models had a 48MP camera.

When snapping pics with this year’s Pro models, you’ll have seven different zoom levels and “the longest zoom ever on iPhone”. You’ll even be able to change what the camera focuses on after you’ve taken the photo.

The Pro models have “the best quality video in a smartphone” and Apple reckons you can film a legit movie with them. Olivia Rodrigo's music video for 'Get him back!' was actually filmed on the Pro model!

They say the new “A16 chip” in the standard models provides “all-day battery life”, but also add a disclaimer in fine print that “battery life varies by use”.

The Pro models are also “the lightest iPhones ever” as they are made of “aerospace grade titanium” which is “light, strong and crucial for space exploration”

If you’re keen to cop one of the new models, Apple will allow you to trade in your old phone (doesn’t have to be an iPhone) for credit towards the new one. The iPhone 15 will come with iOS 17, which has loads of crazy features you can check out here.
