'My little nugget': US woman gives birth in a Maccas toilet in a genuinely crazy story

CONFIRMED: icecream machine wasn't the only thing that broke that day.

A woman who gave birth in a Maccas bathroom will always have a crazy story to tell about how her 'little nugget' came into this world.

Alandria Worthy was in labour in the passenger seat as her fiance Deandre Phillips was driving to the hospital. Alandria needed to use the bathroom so she asked Deandre to drop her off at a Mcdonald's.

Rather than coming back out with a Quarter Pounder and fries, the couple left the Maccas with a 7-pound baby and brand new lives - as parents.

“I went into the bathroom and my water broke immediately,” Worthy said to the local news station, 11 Alive. “It was an experience because it happened so fast.”

Tunisia Woodward, the acting manager at the Mcdonald's, heard Worthy screaming so ran in to see what was going on.

“I thought they were joking, and I open this door, didn’t see anyone, but I saw feet [under the door],” Woodward said. “I opened the door and she was on the toilet lying back, screaming. Then I knew to tell my crew, ‘we’re having a baby today’.”

Two more employees helped out - one called 9-1-1 before both of them surrounded the expectant mother calmed and assisted her. This is when the soon-to-be-father Deandre ran in and saw the McDelivery going on.

“She was on the toilet screaming,” he recalled. “I was trying to calm her down because she was frantic.”

Three pushes and fifteen minutes later (talk about fast service), Nandi Ariyah Moremi Phillips was born, weighing seven pounds.

Nandi is her official name, but the newborn’s parents have a special nickname sorted already.

“We’re going to name her Little Nugget. That’s her nickname: McDonald’s Little Nugget,” Alandria said.

“She’s definitely a nugget,” the father agreed. “My parents loved the name too. We were like, ‘Okay it fits her. My little nugget.”
