Skincycling is TikTok's latest skincare trend, and the transformations are totally insane

No... it has nothing to do with a bike!

Skin Cycling is the latest beauty trend to hit the TikTok scene and it really will make the daunting skin care process a little easier to grasp.

The whole point of skin cycling is to spread all those products that you try and squeeze into one nightly routine and make it more of an, ahem, cycle for your skin.

This cycle includes different skin care needs spread across four nights so your skin isn’t getting overwhelmed by loads of exfoliants, serums and moisturisers that could actually be more troublesome when used together.

NIGHT 1 - GOODBYE DEAD SKIN:
Starting off strong, the first night focuses on exfoliating. Start with your favourite cleanser to gently cleanse the skin, and remove makeup, excess oil and impurities.

Follow up with a gentle chemical exfoliant – this is a key part of the skin cycling routine, working to exfoliate and resurface your skin, leaving you glowing and prepping your skin for the rest of the cycle.

Oh, and don’t forget to moisturise!

NIGHT 2 - BOOST AND STIMULATE:
On the second night your focus is on promoting cell turnover and stimulating the production of collagen in your skin.

If you've never used retinol products before, start off slowly (you may even blend a tiny amount into your moisturiser), and ALWAYS wear sunscreen.

NIGHTS 3 & 4 - MOISTURISE, MOISTURISE, MOISTURISE:
Give your skin a break, it’s been a good 2 nights on your face. Recovery is extremely important, so these final two nights require dedication to hydration and repair.

Any hydrating and nourishing products work here and you can layer as many products as you want - lather up!

Remember you can adjust your routine specifically to yourself, this is just a guide to the original skin cycling process. @ericanic0le posted her easy-to-follow routine to TikTok and she loves a good double cleanse.

So there you have it, a quick and easy way to keep your skincare under control. Honestly, I think this is the only way I’ll be able to remember it all!
