A cockroach slayed the red carpet and almost took out a photographer at the Met Gala 2023

The C-lister really turned some heads!

Did you hear about the very unexpected guest at this year's MET Gala? That’s right, the biggest night in the fashion world had its tiniest guest, ahem gatecrasher make their debut on the famed carpet - a cockroach.

Forget Rihanna, Sydney Sweeney and Anne Hathaway, Cocky Roach was the real star of the show!

We first heard about the surprise C-list guest after @thecut shared a hilarious video of the paparazzi fighting for a chance to interview Mr Roach on who he was wearing.

“The final guest to walk the red carpet at the Met Gala, this cockroach, but he refused to tell us who he was wearing,” wrote the fashion account.

I mean, just imagine a tiny little bug outdressing all those A-list celebrities!

People went wild with jokes about the cockroach stealing the show and upstaging everyone.

Sadly, the cockroach didn't survive the night, as Variety reported that it met its tragic end.

The outlet tweeted: “It is with sadness that we must report the Met Gala cockroach was stepped on. RIP 2023 - 2023”

I have to say, it's pretty impressive for a creature that usually gets ignored or swatted away to make such a lasting impression. Kudos to you Mr Roach!

But let's move on to the real stars of the night, the ones who actually got invited to the party. This year's Met Gala celebrated the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld with the theme "A Line of Beauty."

Celebrities and designers were challenged to create costumes that not only looked amazing but also paid tribute to Lagerfeld, who worked closely with Fendi and Chanel fashion houses.

And boy, did they deliver! From Jared Leto and Doja Cat dressing as, ahem, cats to Anne Hathaway’s BEA-U-TI-FUL Versace number, the red carpet was a real feast for the eyes.
