Trust Doja Cat to be the first celebrity to make heads turn and jaws drop at her shocking tribute look to Karl Lagerfeld on the MET Gala 2023 red carpet.
Doja channelled her inner, ahem, cat as she dressed as Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved white cat, Choupette.
According to Bazaar, Doja's Oscar de la Renta hooded look required over "5,000 hours of work, which includes 350,000 silver and white bugle beads".
Oh, and can we talk about the feline prosthetics paired with the winged cat eyeliner - Meow!!
Doja was rumoured to be making a statement on the carpet after many fans waiting outside the venue captured clips of a celeb being carried in a freaking plastic bag moments before Doja stepped out on the carpet.
Fans have been reacting to the rapper's look with one Twitter user writing: "It’s giving Dr Seuss character but I’m here for it!"
"I’d be lying to myself if I said it’s ugly," wrote another.
A third mentioned how on-brand it was for Doja to be dressed as a cat, puffing on her vape in the background of Emma Chamberlain's Vogue interview.
She's not the only one to appear on the red carpet as the famous feline, another celeb strutted their paws in a full-blown Choupette mascot suit.
Turns out the celeb behind the look is none other than Jared Leto, and that comes as no shock to any of us!
Leto can be seen getting a hug from Lizzo on the carpet, and just from her reaction, I feel comfort in knowing I'm not the only one mildly concerned about this statement suit.
Let's hope these two Choupettes don't cross paths on the carpet or we may have to report on a live cat fight - My money is on Doja for that one!
