'The last few weeks have been very hard': Hailey Bieber responds to Selena Gomez 'speaking out'

"We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself.”

Hailey Bieber has broken her silence on the bullying and harassment she has faced after her recent online posts caused fans to believe she was hitting out at her husband's ex - Selena Gomez.

This is the second time the girls have come together to attempt to shut down the ongoing narrative that the two are feuding.

Over the weekend, Selena Gomez took to her Instagram Stories to share that she wants the online bullying to “stop”.

"Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity," Selena wrote on her Instagram Stories.

"This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop."

Hailey has since taken to her own Instagram Stories to share her own statement praising Selena for publicly confronting the "harmful" narrative.

"I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I," she began.

"The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this, which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together."

Hailey continued: "Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself.”

"In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion."

The two gals are now following each other on Instagram, so if that doesn’t say there’s no beef there, then idk what more they can do…

In all seriousness, there should be no place for that level of hate. It’s a good reminder for us all to remember that there are other people on the opposite end of the screen reading these hurtful messages.

Treat others the way you wish to be treated because you certainly wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end.
