Liam talked A LOT of sh*t during his recent appearance on Logan Paul’s ‘Impaulsive’ podcast, but it was the dragging of his former 1D bandmates that caused Directioners to roast the singer to a crisp online.
He prompted so much backlash that he had to address the situation on Twitter, but if you’re waiting for a 'sorry', don't hold your breath.
First things first, here’s a list of all wild stuff Liam said on the podcast:
Host Logan Paul brought up an argument between his brother Jake and Zayn Malik. Gigi, Zayn's girlfriend at the time, sent Jake an angry tweet calling him “ugly and irrelevant".
Liam Payne then chimed in: “She tweeted 'get yourself a respectful man or something'. That one didn’t age very well.”
That's when things started to get veerrry awkward.
Liam then went into some very personal details about Zayn’s upbringing and hints at the mental health struggles he faced while in the band.
“If I had had to go through what he went through, through his growth and whatever else. My parents are overly supportive, to the point where it’s annoying at times, and Zayn had a different upbringing, in that sense.”
That right there is where fans had an issue.
To make matters worse, some of the other boys in the band have gone to great lengths to avoid talking shit about their former bandmates, and Directioners never forget...
Liam also boldly claimed that his debut single, 'Strip That Down' was the most successful solo effort out of his fellow One Direction bandmates.
We hate to break it to you, babe, but it actually places seventh… EEK!
But the one that takes the cake is the moment where Liam explains he almost had a physical altercation with another bandmate.
“There was an argument backstage, and one member threw me up against the wall. So I said to him, ‘If you don’t remove those hands, there’s a high chance you’ll never use them again.'”
Uh oh, it looks like the heat got a little too much and Liam had to speak out on Twitter, but whatever it was, it wasn’t an apology…
He reckons since he wasn't the one to bring up the Zayn situation, it's not his problem. But he did admit he could have articulated his thoughts better.
Thanks a lot, Liam for single-handedly destroying ANY chance there was for a One Direction reunion!
