Someone Plonked A Giant 'Esc' Button In New York City That Invites Americans To Move To NZ

Forget living the American dream, they're coming to us!

Picture this: You're strolling through the heart of the bustling concrete jungle of New York City, and what do you stumble upon? A piece of a keyboard, just waiting to be pressed!

WellingtonNZ have gone and plonked a colossal 'Esc' key in the middle of the city to get the attention of Americans.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why do we even need their attention?" Well, pressing that big button will connect the Yankee Doodles to what Wellington has on offer.

Live job vacancies will appear up on a screen along with pics and vids of the Wellington lifestyle.

I wanna know if it starts with: “You can’t beat Welly on a good day”.

The whole idea is that Wellington seems to have a better work-life balance, and if that’s true, forget New York, I need that button up here in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Plus, they’re showing off all the live events and places to wine and dine.

Not to toot Welly’s horn even more, but they did have the biggest glow-up of all the cities in the world, moving up 35 spots from #58 in 2022 to #23 in this year’s Global Liveability Index.

So, forget living the American dream, ‘cause by the sounds of it we’ve got it pretty sweet right here!

Someone who decided to make the leap from America to NZ is Ryan Rogers. He landed a job as Lead Lighting Technical Director at Wētā FX back in 2011 and he hasn’t looked back since - you can stay pal!

He was charmed by the city and has since gone on to run his own business in the city.

“It didn’t take long to realise that the city’s friendly people and safe neighbourhoods were the perfect environment to raise a family,” his journey reads on the WellingtonNZ website.

Welp, I guess we can expect a whole bunch of Americans jumping on a plane and making the move here to NZ, let’s hope they get a few of those Kiwi snacks Air NZ are looking at adding to their selection
