New study reckons a cheeky drink every day can actually good for your health, so cheers to that

Wine not pour a glass tonight?!

A brand new study, suggests that a couple of cheeky beveraginos might actually be doing some good for our hearts.

According to the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, sipping on a light to moderate amount of alcohol could work some magic on your ticker.

They reckon men can sip one to two drinks daily, while women can enjoy one a day. Not too shabby, eh?

Now, here's the actual science behind it all: these brilliant researchers analysed data from a whopping 50,000 people. And guess what? They found that those who enjoyed a moderate amount of alcohol had a lower risk of heart disease.

But wait, before you go on a bender to celebrate this epic discovery, there's a catch.

Excessive drinking is never worth it the day after and more often than not, it can be a real buzzkill. It’s a fine line because drinking too much can actually increase your chances of developing cancer and even mess with your brain activity.

But fear not, my friends, because these researchers are determined to find answers for us to get the best of both worlds. They want to figure out a way to replicate alcohol's heart-protective effects without all the nasty side effects.

Who knows? Maybe in the future, we'll have a drink that's as healthy as one of those Kombuchas everyone is getting amongst. Okay, maybe not as healthy, but you get the idea.

So, for now, let's raise our glasses (in moderation, of course) and cheers to this study.

Here's to our heart health and the hope that science will continue to uncover the secrets behind what makes our bodies tick. Cheers!
