You've gotta see our NZ team compete at the ICU cheerleading champs, and did I hear two medals?

This looks like my 'Bring It On' dream!!

New Zealand competed in the International Cheer Union competition over in Orlando, USA, and let me tell you I was freaking proud watching the Kiwi team's epic performances!

It’s not often we see our cheerleading teams get the hype they deserve, but gosh do they work hard and it showed after placing for a medal in two of their categories.

With the NZ All Girl Elite team placing in second place, and our Junior All Girl Advanced team placing in third, it’s safe to say they’ve done us proud!

In a clip posted to TikTok, @cheer_toc shared the full performance of the All Girl Elite team’s semi-finals performance, and there’s no wonder they made it to second place with a clean performance like THAT!

But that’s not all, @thecheerwiz also posted our Coed Elite Team during their semi-finals performance, before they took out a final fifth place against some tough competitors in their category.

And of course, we can't forget our Youth All Girl team, who did an excellent job placing fifth with no deductions during their first appearance in the competition.

The ICU competition saw around 30,000 cheerleaders from 70 different countries cheer their way through the weekend, complete with an opening ceremony that looks like it would be the ultimate ‘Bring It On’ dream.

All in all, New Zealand had an incredible showing at the International Cheer Union competition this year. Our Kiwi cheerleaders demonstrated incredible skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship, and we couldn't be prouder of them.
