Kim Kardashian has taken up her biggest acting role yet, announcing she is joining the cast of American Horror Story for season 12.
The star will appear alongside Emma Roberts in the new season, sharing a video to her Instagram announcing the news early this morning.
The video reveals that Kardashian and Roberts will be starring in a new chapter of the series called ‘Delicate’.
Roberts shared the same video with the caption “This summer, Kim and I are Delicate”.
A rep for the creator of the series Ryan Murphy told Variety that the star’s character was designed specifically for her.
Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that Kardashian is “among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world” and her role will be “fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying”.
The upcoming season is reportedly based on the novel ‘Delicate Condition’ by Danielle Valentine, which is a ‘gripping thriller’ story of a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.
Kim has done her fair share of acting over the years, with small roles in 'Disaster Movie’, ‘CSI: NY’ and ‘Drop Dead Diva’ and more recently appearing in Oceon’s 8, 2 Broke Girls and voicing in the new Paw Patrol film.
She also received praise for hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live back in 2021, which is thought to have convinced Murphy to offer her the role in the upcoming season of AHS.
Also making his debut in the series alongside Kardashian and Roberts is Matt Czucrhy, who you will recognize from his role as Logan in Gilmore Girls and Conrad in The Resident.
Since the series' conception in 2011, it has seen a range of A-list appearances from actors like Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Denis O’Hare, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Billie Lourd, and even Lady Gaga.
Season 12 will start filming in May 2023 and we have our fingers crossed we will get the season before the end of the year.
