Disney Pixar is getting the band back together and is in the process of creating Toy Story 5!
We will be reunited once again with our faves Woody & Buzz freaking Lightyear - can you tell I’m excited?!
So far, we know that the film's fifth instalment has been greenlit and is currently in the works.
“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises,” Disney CEO Bob Iger announced.
“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon…”
Although none of the characters has been confirmed to return YET, Tim Allen who voices Buzz Lightyear in all of the currently released films Tweeted a very promising hint that he could be making a return.
Many fans have shared their thoughts online and some had their best guesses at what we might see.
One hopes that the film will have Woody reunite with Buzz and the gang after the bittersweet ending in 'Toy Story 4'.
Another reckons the new film should have the toys reunite with a grown-up Andy who has a wife and kids.
Now that is a plot line I’d love to see round off the franchise.
We don’t know when the film will be released but it took a good five years for Toy Story 4 to hit the big screen after its announcement.
So if my math is correct, there’s a good chance we won’t be lining up with our popcorn until 2029.
Other much-loved animated films will also receive further instalments including ‘Frozen 3’ and a new ‘Zootopia’ film also being announced.
So, get ready to channel your inner child because there’s no way we’re missing these ones!
