Ahead of the release of his latest album, Meg sat down for a chat with Lewis Capaldi.
Lewis has been MIA from socials lately as he finished off his album, something he says was actually a good thing for everyone.
"I've been away, but I feel like people needed, the people needed a break."
"People needed to have some time off of my bleak, pale face but now I'm back and I'm hitting you over the head with my music."
Speaking of his music, Meg asked about the pressure he must feel off the back of his successful first album.
"There's an immense amount of pressure. That's a huge amount of pressure. And I'm feeling it. I'm feeling it. You can see my hair start to fall out and everything." he joked.
With what we can expect from his new music, Lewis said that honestly, it's the exact same.
"the album is the same as the last one. I'm not going to sugarcoat it and try and say I went on an emotional journey."
"I had another girlfriend. We broke up. I wrote songs about it. It's the same thing. And too much is changing.
And that's what I think every now and then something needs to stay the same. People need familiar, people need someone they can come back to that feels like home. and I want to be that safe haven for the people of New Zealand and for the people of the world."
And this is when the interview, started to go down another..... weird path.
Lewis Capaldi had joked before if his album tanked, he'd turn to Only Fans, and that's apparently still on the cards.
"you said that if you ever fail in your career, you're going to start an onlyfans" said Meg.
"Absolutely. I'll be selling my used undies and everything and it's going to be huge. I'll be doing like some of that girl who is in farts in a jar? Yeah, I will actually. I'll actually sell my sh*ts in a jar." said Lewis.
Meg asked about Lewis' latest single 'Forget Me' and the sad lyrics throughout it.
"I think there's a few of us have been in that situation where it's like the idea of being forgotten is what's and the idea of like just being that you're being erased from someone's life. History is quite a serious thing that's almost worse than someone disliking you."
As a final question, Meg wanted to know if there was anything Lewis hadn't been asked in any of his interviews that he'd love to be asked.
"Ask me something crazy" he replied.
And Meg took things a step further than crazy asking the NSFW question "who was the last person you masturbated to?"
"Oh, God sake." he said.
"you know, uh.... Abella Danger. She's great".
