The Edge Afternoons

Nickson confronts Daisy Jones & The Six star Sam Claflin about how he ‘doesn’t read’

He didn't quite know how to respond...

Sharyn, Steph, and Nickson from Edge Afternoons got to chat with Sam Claflin and Riley Keough who star in the brand-new series ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’.

The eight-episode series is based on the novel written by Taylor Jenkins Reid and stars Riley Keough, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, as Daisy Jones, and Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne.

Based on the New York Times best-selling novel, Daisy Jones & the Six follows the story of a 1970s band fronted by two feuding yet charismatic lead singers, Daisy Jones, and Billy Dunne. Set to the soundtrack of original music, this is the story of how this iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.

The team sat down to chat with the stars over zoom to chat about the epic new series, available to stream now on Amazon Prime.

To hype them up for the interview, Sharyn, Steph and Nickson prepared a special rendition of 'Look at us now (Honeycomb)' from the film.

Watch the hilarious moment below.

Toward the end of the interview, Nickson had one last question for Sam Claflin.

“Does the rest of the cast know that you don’t read and only read kids' books?” Nickson said.

This comes after he revealed in an interview that he ‘doesn’t read really’, explaining that he reads a lot of children's books.

Watch the confession below.

I’m sure that’s something he would rather keep to himself…

We get it, the star has two young kids and let’s be honest, kids' books are a lot easier to read.

Laughing it off, his co-star Riley Keough explained that she had just learned it in the past 24 hours.

He defended himself, explaining: “I do read books but they’re the books I turn into films”.

“My bookshelves are filled with book adaptations that I have been involved with, most with my face on the front of them,” he said.

“I feel very honoured to be a part of a wonderful novel and hope I get another chance to do it again”.

Well, he might not be after that confession…
