Disney's Lilo & Stitch live-action cast has been revealed featuring some familiar faces

‘Lilo & Stitch’ is making a comeback after over two decades

Guess what Disney fans? We’re getting a live-action makeover of ‘Lilo & Stitch’ and we now have a pretty good idea of who will be playing our fave characters!

That's right, ‘Lilo & Stitch’ is making a comeback after over two decades since it first hit our screens in 2002. And let's be real, who doesn't love the adorable Hawaiian duo?

The cast announcement has finally been confirmed by multiple sources including The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline and includes some familiar faces as well as some new debuts.

Posting to Facebook, Reel News Hawaii shared the cast list including Maia Kealoha, a newcomer, who will play the role of the central character Lilo.

Sydney Agudong will play Lilo's older sister, Nani. Chris Sanders, the original voice of Stitch, will return for the titular role.

CGI will likely be used to bring the genetically engineered 'earth dog' (aka Stitch) to life. Disney will probably use the same technology that they used in 2019's The Lion King to create a lifelike Stitch.

But that's not all, the film has also added a few other familiar faces like Zach Galifianakis from ‘The Hangover franchise’ and Billy Magnussen from ‘No Time To Die’.

There have also been a few changes to the original cast. The character Cobra Bubbles, a former CIA agent who becomes a social worker, has been axed, and Jolene Purdy will play the role of Mrs. Kekoa, a child services agent instead.

While there will be updates to come, we are awaiting Disney’s official announcement, but what do we reckon so far?!

We know what you're thinking, what about the release date? Well, there hasn't been an official announcement yet, but rumour has it that it might hit theatres in May 2024.
