6 savage moments Miley Cyrus’ new song ‘Flowers’ shades the heck out of ex-hubby Liam Hemsworth

From the Bruno Mars lyrics to the rumoured cheating location, Miley said idgaf!

Miley Cyrus has released the first single ‘Flowers’ from her upcoming album ‘Endless Summer Vacation’, and it’s safe to say she has caused a BANG.

Yep, not only is it an absolute tune, but the internet is absolutely going mad with all of the subtle digs included in the song's lyrics and music video which have caused mass speculation that miss Miley has called out her ex-hubby Liam Hemsworth.

Miley and Liam met on the set of the 2010 flick ‘The Last Song’ and dated until marriage in 2018. The couple then filed for divorce a year later and it was finalised in 2020.

Although Miley hasn’t confirmed that the song is about Liam, there are some clever and very dedicated fans who have found tidbits from the new tune and have spilled some pretty hot tea all over Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

Luckily for you, I’ve done all the digging so you can catch up to speed right here on all the juicy goss - of course, we could be waaaaay off with these theories, but let’s be honest, these lyrics don’t seem like a coincidence.

THE RELEASE DATE
Some fans think it wasn’t a coinkydink that Miley dropped ‘Flowers’ on January 13, which just so happened to be Liam's 33rd BIRTHDAY!!

‘WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN’
Miley seems to have sampled and flipped multiple lyrics from Bruno Mars’ ‘When I Was Your Man’.

According to Billboard, many die-hard fans speculate that Liam dedicated the tune to Miley following their first engagement in 2013, others are claiming it was played at their wedding in 2018.

Bruno isn’t credited as a sample for the song, so there’s no confirmation, but you can’t tell me you don’t hear it too.

2018 WOOLSEY FIRE
In the opening verse, Miley sings: We were good, we were gold/ Kind of dream that can't be sold/ We were right till we weren't/ Built a home and watched it burn,"

The fire is considered a metaphor by many fans referring to the home Miley shared with Liam which burned down in the 2018 Woolsey Fire.

Miley has previously told Vanity Fair in a 2019 interview that she and Liam may not have gotten married if it wasn’t for the fire bringing them closer in their relationship.

REJECTED DANCE
A string of TikToks are floating around showing an interview from the Vanity Fair Oscars Party where an Access Hollywood reporter asked what a dance shared between the couple would look like.

As soon as Miley began jokingly backing it up on Liam, he shut it down immediately responding, “We’re not doing this”.

One Twitter user compared that video to a clip from the music video, where Miley appears to do similar dance moves on her own - Like she says “I can take myself dancing” and she does it exceptionally!

THE SUIT
Notice that the suit looks rather large on Miley during the big dance party she has in the house? Well, some fans think that may just be Mr Hemsworth's jacket and trousers.

Some reckon it could be from their wedding, others are saying it’s from the awkward Oscars party mishap and then there’s the rumour it’s from the ‘Avengers: End Game’ premiere where Liam told Miley to “behave” herself.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about check it out below.

THE CHEATING HOUSE
Last but certainly not least, fans believe that the house where Miley filmed the music video, is the same house that Liam allegedly rented to cheat on Miley with 14 other women.

This is not confirmed, but boy is there a lot of talk about this being the most major middle finger moment in the whole video.

I mean you’ve gotta give Miley a huge round of applause for even getting fans to go this wild over her first single on her new album. The tea has been spilled and I might need a good 5 business days to recover!
