The Kardashian clan slay every Halloween with their extravagant costumes, but sometimes they slip the mark and this year fans have shared their concerns about North West’s Michael Jackson costume dubbing it ‘creepy’ for all the wrong reasons.
The oldest of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s kids, North West, wore Michael Jackson’s authentic hat that the late singer wore in his ‘Smooth Criminal’ music video instead of doing what literally ANYONE else would do and buying the typical synthetic leather jacket and one recognisable MJ glove from a cheap costume shop.
The costume, however, wasn't exactly well received on Twitter, as some users reckon that given the allegations the late singer has had against him, the 9-year-old wearing his authentic garments is a little odd with others going as far as to call the situation “disturbing” and “creepy.”
If that wasn’t bad enough the internet has gone wild with theories that the star has ruined the hat but claimed, it was MJ’s own authentic makeup.
Page Six also reported that Kardashian paid $65,625 at an auction, and would have the jacket lengthened to fit North as she grows.

However, this isn’t the first time Kim K in particular has been rumoured to have caused damage to a famous item from a late celebrity’s closet.
Others cited her infamous decision to wear Marilyn Monroe's gown to the 2022 Met Gala and suggested that a trend might be starting.
Side-by-side comparisons of the dress have been shared by Pop Crave on Twitter, allegedly showing signs of stretched fabric and missing crystals on the back closure of the dress.
However, in Kim's defence, Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Museum assured that all steps were followed to avoid any harm while lending the dress to the reality star.
“This was no easy decision for Ripley’s, however, Kim Kardashian has continued to show the utmost respect for this opportunity and historic garment,” Ripley’s said in a statement.
So, whether you love him or hate him, Michael Jackson’s garments are historic and many are suggesting that if the pieces are not with his family they should be preserved in a museum - not on a 9-year-old’s head for a costume party.
One confused user wrote: “I'm still tryna figure out why the hell Micheal Jackson’s hat isn’t in a museum, but on North's head…?”
It’s very clear that fans are not impressed with the reality star's track record of donning historic garments, but will it prevent her from doing it again? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
