Following the reveal of the summer anthem ‘Solar Power,’ the Kiwi pop-star hasn’t hesitated to drop clues about her upcoming album and its heavily anticipated release.
A clue for what’s to come has been shared to her website, where fans will find a video of her sitting outside in a similar setting to what we saw in the music video for Solar Power – underneath the video however, is the biggest clue of all; the word ‘solstice’ is written in bold, capital letters.
In an email to fans, Lorde has previously stated that fans should “look to the natural calendar for clues” in regard to her new album… and today marks the very first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere – also known as ‘Summer Solstice.’
This year, the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere falls on Monday, June 21st at 03:32 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the international standard time used by astronomers. The solstice arrives at the same moment for New Zealand, but here in the southern hemisphere It is the ‘Winter Solstice.’
With all of this in mind, Lorde fans are certain that the next single is coming imminently, with the arrival of the Solstice.
One fan musing
A blessed Summer Solstice to the Lorde. Where’s the album?
Another adding, “It’s Summer Solstice – Where is the album @lorde??”
If our calculations are correct, we certainly think new music is coming soon and after the hit that was Solar Power, we can’t wait!
