Sherif Lanre has hit out at Love Island bosses after they kicked him out of the villa.
The 20-year-old was removed from the ITV2 show after a kicking Molly-Mae in the groin and joking that it was a "c*** punt".
Producers said that this broke the rules and he was sent home.
But the young chef has claimed that there was "unconscious racism" at play and that it wouldn't have happened to a white woman.
In an interview with The Sun he said: "I was the only black man in the villa and I was kicked out after ten days.
“In my opinion, what happened was unconscious racism.
“There was, I felt, sexism. I feel I wouldn’t have been given that red card if I was a white woman.”
Sherif revealed that he and Molly-Mae were play fighting in the unisex shower and after kicking her he joked, "that's a c*** punt".
“I know I have been stupid and let myself down but I was not being malicious," he added.
“This has been blown out of all proportion and I have been made to look like a terrible person when I am not."
Love Island gave no reason for the removal of the contestant.
They said in a statement: "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa."
ITV also released a statement on behalf of Sherif at the time: "In a case of poor judgment, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way.”
