How much MAFS stars really get paid for being on the show

If instead of love, your main reason for going on Married At First Sight one day was for the money, you might want to have a re-think...

Considering you're being filmed 24/7 for weeks on end, we'd always assumed MAFS stars were being paid the big bucks for being on the show.

But as it turns out, the 'big bucks' isn't so big after all.

While speaking with an Australian radio station, Telv Williams, one of the participants from last year's season, has revealed how much they were each getting paid to be on the show.

"You get paid $150 dollars a day, tax free. It's sh**, it's rubbish... everything is off your own f***ing back."

He went on to say "you gotta do all your own hair and makeup. You gotta do your own dress, buy your own clothes".

If you're sitting there thinking "hold on, $150? that doesn't sound bad at all?" we can understand why but let's just put things in to perspective.

If you're working a standard day of 8 hours, on the new minimum wage of $17.70, you'd make $141.60.

That's only roughly $10 less than the stars who are affectively working 24 hours a day.
