Gypsy Rose Blanchard is now in prison so won't have much access to social media but her old Facebook page (the one she shared with her mum, Dee Dee) still exists.
The last post from the page is still up and it reads "That Bitch is dead!"
It’s from three years ago, and it’s the post that actually started the search for Dee Dee’s body. The comments show the various stages of friends and family finding out the news.
In an interview after the fact, Gypsy said she wrote the post herself. “I couldn’t stand the thought of her just there because what happens if it would have taken months to find her, so I wanted her found so she could have a proper burial.”
She hoped the post would cause concern among friends and family, who would alert the police. Some family friends saw the post and went to the house because they were concerned about Dee Dee. Police found her body that night, and they were able to trace the IP address of the Facebook post to Nicholas Godejohn’s house. He was Gypsy’s boyfriend at the time.
Now, Nicholas is serving life in prison for her murder, and Gypsy herself is spending 10 years behind bars. She's also currently engaged to someone who started out as a pen pal.
