Women who put on make-up before an exam get better results

Turns out that lipstick will truly make you shine when it comes to getting top exams results!

New research shows that women who put on make-up before taking a test/exam achieved a 20% higher result than those who were bare faced.

Psychologists have named this theory the ‘lipstick effect’, which cloaims those who wear make-up have a boosted self-esteem and a 'knock-on effect' when it comes to memory, confidence and general mental abilitities.

The researchers, from Harvard Medical School and Chieti University in Italy, said: ‘Women may use make-up to increase self-esteem by boosting their attractiveness; this makes them feel better during stress. Positive emotions increase information accessible in memory.’
