Kim Kardashian has kinda, sorta apologised for telling women to "get their f**king ass up and work" after her comments landed her in hot water.
The reality star prompted biiig backlash online after being asked by Variety what her advice was for women trying it make it in the business world, adding: "It seems like nobody wants to work these days."
Even Kourtney, who famously DGAF about hustling to become as ridiculously famous as her other sisters, replied: "That's so true".
Kim's words sparked a conversation about privilege and wealth, with many pointing out all the advantages the multi-millionaire already had when starting her cosmetics and shapewear empires.
"It wasn't a blanket statement towards women or to feel like I don't respect their work or think that they don't work hard. I know that they do,’ Kim told Good Morning America about the controversy.
"It was taken out of context, but I’m really sorry if it was received that way."
The KKW Beauty founder blamed the statement on her being a bit pissed off at the way a question had been framed just before the one about advice for women in business.
"That soundbite came off of the notion and the question right before, which was, 'After 20 years of being in the business, you’re famous for being famous,' and my whole tone and attitude changed," she said.
Kim's apology came too late for her to avoid becoming the butt of a joke at the Oscars, where hosts Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes took her town over her statement.
"We’ve got an inspirational quote for you, Judi Dench," Regina said. "This is from Kim Kardashian: 'Work harder'."
