Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says more public holidays could be on the cards for us to discover more of NZ - as one of the things the Government's "actively considering" to encourage domestic tourism.
"My message to Kiwis is, come and experience your own backyard and come and experience the cultural and hospitality here in Aotearoa."
This comes after the Government announced $7.6 million in funding to get the tourism industry back on its feet.
What a great excuse to take a break and explore more of our own backyard!
