Nearly a year ago, Amy Schumer has left fans scratching their heads after introducing her newborn son to the world.
After announcing she had given birth, Schumer took to Instagram to share a photo of her partner Chris Fischer holding their baby boy. All pretty normal and cute, right?
"Gene Attell Fischer and his dad Chris," she captioned the cute photo. However, when you say the first and middle name together, it's pretty hard to miss how it sounds like 'genital'.
Schumer's comments quickly filled with comments about the unfortunate coincidence with one saying "Amy Schumer naming her son Gene Attell feels like a sick joke and I need to log off the internet".
Fast forward a year and the comedian has revealed they've since changed their son's name. Speaking on her podcast, she said "Do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name, is officially changed?".
"It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realised that we, by accident, named our son ‘genital’" she admitted.
Schumer went on to reveal is was her mum he awkwardly pointed it out to her "My mum was like, ‘Amy’s called her son genital’. And I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ And then, she was right."
