Spotify and Tinder just announced a new partnership, which will allow users of the mobile dating app to select their personal “anthem” for their profile.
We don't know who Tinder think they are kidding with the "anthem" vibes but more or less this just gives you more of an insight into whether or not you should swipe left or right dependent on the person's music tastes, making this app possibly even more shallow than it already was.
You won't NEED a Spotify account to listen to profile anthems, but you will be able to take the whole Spotify thing a step further by syncing your Spotify account to your profile. By doing this not only will you be sharing your "anthem" but you'll be sharing a bunch of artists and songs you've listened to recently so potential matches can see if your musical tastes match.
Pro tip: If you've just come out of a relationship, your recent play history of Coldplay, Radiohead, R.E.M, and Lana Del Ray may not go down well, so maybe avoid using this feature.
The update went live as of today apparently , and you can check out the video above to see it in action (backup dancers, flash mobs, and in-office antics may vary).
Choose wisely. Might we suggest opting for “Hot in Herre,” which will let potential hookups dates know you’re generously doing your part to #SaveNelly? Just a suggestion.
