The news came out late last night that Giant Pandas are no longer listed as endangered wildlife animals.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) announced that Giant Pandas were being shifted from the "endangered" category to being listed as "vulnerable."
"Its population has grown due to effective forest protection and reforestation," they said.

"The improved status confirms that the Chinese government's efforts to conserve this species are effective."
There has been a 17% rise in the number of pandas between the years 2004 and 2014, when a census in China found there were only 1,864.
