Netflix is looking for players for a real-life Squid Game comp with a $4.56m prize

It will be the largest cash prize in reality TV history!

Players, get ready for Squid Game: The Challenge, Netflix's new reality competition series, which is bringing the global hit Squid Game to life.

Practice your  dalgona candy and marble skills because Netflix confirmed the reality competition is greenlit and revealed just how large they plan to make it.

The competition will see 456 players from around the world battle it out for a whopping $4.56 million prize (that's over $7 million NZD, btw). It's expected to stay true to the original series, with the stakes being at an all-time high.

The player’s strategy, alliances, and character will be put to the ultimate test while other competitors are eliminated around them.

This seems very familiar to the concept of Youtuber MrBeast, who created a real-life version of Squid Gameback in 2021!

He gathered 456 players to compete in games based on the original series for their chance to win a total of $456,000.

With MrBeast confirming that his 25-minute video required a whopping $3.5 million, we can’t even begin to imagine the amount of dosh going into the ultimate real-life Squid Game set!

The 10-episode competition series will be shot in the UK, and casting for the series is currently open on SquidGameCasting.com, to English-language speakers from anywhere in the world.

Where do I sign?!

Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of unscripted and documentary series said: “Squid Game took the world by storm with Director Hwang’s captivating story and iconic imagery. We’re grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment.”

Unlike the original, we don’t think the punishment will be death, but the worst fate will be going home empty-handed!
