Jordan Peterson called this plus-size model 'not beautiful' and mate, get to Specsavers

Even his own fans weren't cool with this call.

Controversial psychologist and author Jordan Peterson has pissed people off big time with his thoughts about a Sports Illustrated model's appearance, which, by the way, nobody asked for.

Peterson shared an image of plus-size model and musician Yumi Nu's cover shoot for the magazine, tweeting: "Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that."

Hey there Jordy. You all good bud? Having a bit of a bad day? You're giving me hangry vibes. Unrelated: Have you been to the optometrist lately?

Anywho, not sure what kind of response old mate was hoping for with that one, but what he got was furious backlash, including from some of his own fans.

"Sheesh. Big fan here. I find my girlfriend with a body type like this quite beautiful. Dial it back a bit homie," one reply on Twitter read.

"I'm a huge fan of yours and am always getting my young adult sons and daughter to watch your videos, but I have to disagree," said another. "Beauty is subjective. You can be older and heavier and still be beautiful."

The best bit is, after deciding to insult someone for literally no reason on Twitter, the academic then got all in his feelings because people insulted him back. So much so, that he decided to have a bit of a tanty and quit Twitter, "for now".

“The endless flood of vicious insult is really not something that can be experienced anywhere else,” he tweeted amid the controversy.

“I like to follow the people I know but I think the incentive structure of the platform makes it intrinsically and dangerously insane.”

We should probably all be careful about contributing to the endless flood of vicious insults, shouldn't we J-dog?!

Other people enjoyed this turn of events as much as I did.

"The shift from "Attention everyone, I have an insult to share!" to "People insulted me, I'm such a victim" took a full day, but I bet we can get it under 24 hours next time," one Twitter user wrote.

"Jordan Peterson is quitting Twitter because he tried to fat shame a cover model and his mentions got too hot to handle. lmaooo what a hero," said another.

Now, I'm fully aware this is just another opinion nobody asked for, but I think the world would probably be a better place with less men commenting on women's bodies online, and more gorgeous gals like Yumi Nu redefining antiqued beauty standards on magazine covers.

Just a thought!

Of course, nobody put it better than Yumi herself, who retweeted Jordan with simply: "Hoes mad".
