WATCH: Netflix have dropped the terrifying full Stranger Things 4 trailer

Season 4 will drop in two parts - the first on 27 May and the second on 1 July.

This is not a drill! The full trailer for Stranger Things season 4 is here, and it looks darker than ever.

Netflix has dropped a couple tease trailers for the upcoming season over the last year, and we've been told to expect it to be the "scariest" and "best" season yet.

It looks like all of our favourite characters are making a return, including Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Max, Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, Robin, Joyce, and even Hopper - who miraculously survived season three.

Netflix' official synopsis reads:

"It's not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human... and other,

"Meanwhile, back in the States, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything."

Creators of the show Matt and Ross Duffer have said this season will open up new plotlines "into areas outside of Hawkins," and they've dubbed season 4 their "Game of Thrones" season, since it's so much longer than previous seasons.

It'll be released in two parts - the first on 27 May and the second on 1 July. So not long to go now!
