If you needed any more convincing that 'the slap' we all witnessed Chris Rock taking from Will Smith during the Oscars yesterday was totally real - look no further.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has publicly called the King Richard star out in more detail, having made an initial statement shortly after the wild incident unfolded on live TV.
"The Academy condemns the actions of Mr Smith at last night's show," a statement read.
"We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law."
The Academy also shared its Standards of Conduct document, which lists "physical contact that is uninvited and, in the situation, inappropriate and unwelcome" as one of the big no-nos.
The rules also state that if anyone violates the Standards of Conduct, disciplinary action can be taken, including expulsion from membership of The Academy.
During his acceptance speech for Best Actor moments after smacking Chris Rock and screaming "keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth" after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's appearance, Will tearfully apologised to The Academy and his fellow nominees - but it might be too little, too late.
"I hope The Academy invites me back," he finished his speech, but based on the response we're seeing, that's looking less and less likely.
Even the Los Angeles Police Department has spoken out on the altercation, confirming they were aware of the incident and that Chris Rock was offered the chance to file a police report, but chose not to.
