In what might be one of the wildest Oscars moments of all time, Will Smith completely lost his shit at Chris Rock, stormed on stage, appeared to slap the comedian and then screamed at him from the audience.
The King Richard star did not take kindly to Chris Rock's joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, yelling at Chris: "Keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth", not once, but twice, leaving the entire audience shooketh.
At first, it looked like the Smiths laughed off the gag, in which Rock said he "couldn't wait" to see "GI Jane 2", making reference to Jada's shaved head.
To make matters more awkward, Jada has alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss, which she shared in a video that has racked up 2 million views.
But even when Will took to the stage and literally smacked Chris, it seemed like the mood was still pretty light, with the comedian joking: "Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me."
That's when the mood all changed though, with Will furiously heckling Chris from the audience.
"Wow, dude," Chris replied. "It was a GI Jane joke."
What followed was one of the longest and most awkward pauses mankind has ever known, before Chris attempted to carry on announcing the award for best documentary.
Was it staged? We can't be sure. Was it one of the most insane live television moments ever? Abso-freaking-lutely.
