Aussie TV reporter gets stood down after ruining $1M Adele interview

Adele has reportedly denied an Aussie TV network access to footage of an interview they paid $1M for.

Channel Seven flew Aussie TV reporter Matt Doran to London - after paying $1M for an exclusive interview with Adele. During their interview he admitted to her that he hadn’t even listened to the album.

According to sources, the reporter was granted 20 to 30 minutes with Adele.

During the interview Adele reportedly began to notice the reporter was struggling to share what he thought of her new album '30'. When she asked about what he thought about the album, he admitted, “I haven’t listened to it”.

Adele's music label Sony had full access to the footage and refused to release it to the TV network. The reporter ended up getting suspended for two weeks.

“Seven is obviously angry about it,” a source told The Daily Telegraph.

“Matt was reprimanded. He had links, he should have done the research.”

The reporter has since broken his silence on the incident in a new interview with 'The Australian'. Matt told them he is “mortified and unequivocally apologetic” about it.

“When I sat down to interview Adele, I was totally unaware that I’d been emailed a preview of her unreleased album.”

“I have since discovered it was sent to me as an ‘e card’ link, which I somehow missed upon landing in London. It was an oversight but NOT a deliberate snub. This is the most important email I have ever missed.”

Surely if you were flying to London to interview Adele you'd ask to listen to the album. Even if it was sent to you or not... That's the bloody point of the trip.

Sounds like a big ol' excuse. How embarassing.
