Netflix has announced a gay romantic comedy for this holiday season, the first of its kind from the streaming service.
The film is joining several other similar projects that will be bringing LGBTQ+ stories to a genre that’s largely ignored or sidelined by streaming services.
Single All The Way, which premieres Dec. 2, tells the story of perpetually single Peter (Michael Urie) who asks a friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to pretend to be his boyfriend while visiting his family for the holidays, but then gets set up with a handsome personal trainer, according to the Netflix release description.
Other familiar names will be involved in the project with Kathy Najimy playing Peter’s mother, Luke MacFarlane playing the handsome trainer and the one and only Jennifer Coolidge playing the role of Peter’s single aunt Sandy.
By the sounds of it this will be one to watch.
