Jesy Nelson has cut ties with her former bandmates from Little Mix after she left the group last year.
Jesy released her first solo song ‘Boyz’ over the weekend and people are accusing her of ‘blackfishing’ in her music video. Meaning, someone who is not a person of colour, but uses things like hairstyling, makeup and tanning, to make them appear as if they have black heritage or are racially ambiguous.
This isn’t the first time she’s been called out for it.
Leigh-Anne from Little Mix, who is a black woman, has called her out for it. She posted a video of black poet Amanda Seales on her Instagram Story saying ‘You can attempt to imitate, but soul you cannot buy’.
It then appeared like her former bandmates from Little Mix unfollowed Jesy on Instagram.
But after further investigation, Jesy blocked them. Leigh-Anne confirmed it on a live stream - saying she’s completely cut them off and that she’s a horrible person.
Sounds like the band have cut ties with her all together now.
