Before you get too excited about the idea of chocolate soft-serve, we need to point out that this is currently only a trial in Aussie.

But that doesn't mean it won't be coming to NZ in the future - after this Aussie TikToker spotted this sign at her local drive thru:

McDonald’s confirmed that they're trialing the new soft serve across specific locations in Aussie. However it's really nothing new here in NZ - after it made a brief appearance in McDonald's restaurants around 10 years ago.

Maccas haven't confirmed if it'll make a comeback here in NZ just yet.

We'll just have to wait and see.
