The hit Netflix series Squid Game has taken the internet by storm!
One of the series' challenges requires participants to make a type of honeycomb cookie, also known as Dalgona candy. Participants must carve shapes into these wafer-thin snacks. If the cookie breaks, the participant is eliminated from the games.
What Is Dalgona Candy?
Dalgona candy is a traditional toffee-like snack in Korea, also known in some regions as Bbopgi.
The snack is made from just two ingredients sugar and baking soda.
The cookie then has a picture pressed into it as it hardens. Children often attempt to eat around the outline of the picture without breaking the cookie.
How do you Make Dalgona Candy?
Dalgona candy only requires two ingredients to make: sugar and baking soda.
User @feelinclueless shared a video on Tik Tok revealing how they make theirs.
To make the candy at home you will need:
2 Tablespoon of sugar
A pinch of baking soda
Small cookie cutters (any shape you desire)
A small needle or toothpick
First heat up your pan on low heat, add the sugar and stir until it melts, creating a liquid like toffee.
Add a pinch of baking soda, stir through quickly and thoroughly.
Pour the mixture on a tray lined with baking paper.
Before the mixture is set but still soft, gently press a shape using a cookie cutter into the middle.
Let the mixture set to form a hard biscuit.
For extra fun use your needle or toothpick to remove the shape without breaking the image.
Will you survive the games?
