International luxury brands Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Moncler, Burberry, Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors to open stores at Westfield Newmarket… and we can’t wait to browse the shelves with absolutely no intent to purchase.
Scentre Group, an ASX-listed company which owns 51 percent of the shopping centre, said that these international retailers will soon be opening stores in the property it calls a ‘lifestyle centre.’ New Zealand-owned family business Partridge Jewellers will also join the lineup of luxury businesses.
Of the nine new retailers, six have never had outlets in this country before – great, more places to spend money we don’t have!
Paul Gardner, Scentre’s regional manager for New Zealand, said that the new retailers would trade from the grand ground-level floor area “They’ll all be open by Christmas but they’ll open gradually between August and the festive season. They don’t all open at once,” he added.
"For six of these nine new retailers announced and coming here, this will be the first time they have traded in New Zealand," he said, naming Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Moncler, Burberry and Jimmy Choo.
Not that we can afford it, but we sure are excited to do some window shopping!
