Get ready to say goodbye to everyone’s favourite show, because the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine finally has a premiere date.
NBC revealed on Instagram that we can expect to see the last episodes of the hilarious series on August 12.
Susan Rovner, from NBCUniversal said the following about the show: “It will launch in August, coming out of the Summer Olympics, which is a coveted slot. We can think of nothing more deserving than giving it to the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
“This is a beloved show and we wanted to give it a slot where it had access to the biggest possible audience.”
The ending of the series was confirmed by the shows co-creator Dan Goor earlier this year, and we are SO sad to see that day looming closer and closer.
On Twitter, Goor wrote: "I'm so thankful to NBC and Universal Television for allowing us to give these characters and our fans the ending they deserve. I feel very lucky to have worked with this amazing cast and crew for eight seasons.”
Last year, Terry Crews also confirmed that every episode in this upcoming finale season had to be rewritten in light of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Crews explained “We’ve had a lot of sombre talks about it and deep conversations, and we hope through this, we’re going to make something that will be truly groundbreaking this year.”
The final season will consist of 10 episodes and we can’t believe it’s going to be on our screens in a matter of months!
