JUST IN! Original cast members of the 2007 hit musical Enchanted – Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Idina Menzel -l to return to the film’s sequel titled ‘Disenchanted,” with filming set to start this summer.
While the plot is still under wraps, sources have reported that the long-awaited sequel will feature some classic Disney characters, including Snow White’s seven dwarfs. The film is expected to be released in 2022.
The Disney film is also looking for extras to shoot in Ireland this summer, and there’s been a huge publicity push to recruit them. You need to be entitled to work in Ireland, and men must be willing to shave beards if required.
The sequel is filming in Dublin between May and August this year. Producers Clocktower Productions are “committed to diverse, inclusive casting” and are looking for “submissions for non-descript roles” for all performers regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, disability, race etc.
This sequel has definitely been a LONG time coming, it’s actually been in development since way back in 2010. Patrick Dempsey revealed to sources that script disagreements are what lead to the sequels extremely slow progression, but it seems its finally here!
The plot is allegedly set 10 years after the first film left off, where a decade into her happily ever after, Giselle questions her happiness – inadvertently turning the lives of those in the real world and Andalasia upside down in the process.
Dempsey also revealed that he will be singing publicly for the first time in Disenchanted, teasing that the “lyrics are really fun” and “the numbers have really great choreography.”
