Spotify releases its most streamed artists of the decade

Check out who were the most popular artists of the last 10 years.

What a decade it's been. Can you believe it's been 10 years since Justin Bieber hit us with his classic 'Baby', and David Guetta and Akon were being blasted everywhere with their tune 'Sexy B**ch'?!

So who were the top artists of the 10s? The most streamed artist of the decade was of course the one and only Drizzy Drake. He was closely followed by Ed Sheeran and Post Malone, with Ariana Grande coming in 4th.

The most-streamed songs of the 2010s went to:

  1. “Shape of You” – Ed Sheeran
  2. “One Dance”  – Drake, Kyla, WizKid
  3. “rockstar (feat. 21 Savage)” – 21 Savage, Post Malone
  4. “Closer” – Halsey, The Chainsmokers
  5. “Thinking out Loud” – Ed Sheeran

You can listen to the Most Streamed Songs of the Decade below for a trip down memory lane. Oh the nostalgia:

As for the stats for 2019? The top streamed songs went to 'Senorita' by Camila Cabello and Sean Mendes, followed by Billie Eilish's 'bad guy' and Post Malone and Swae Lee's 'Sunflower'.

Billie Eilish also took out the top-streamed album spot with 'When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go'.

It's no surprise that ol' Posty took out the top artist spot for the year, again followed by Billie and the Ariana.

Can't wait to see what the next decade of music has in store for us!
