If you can't choose between wine and gin - well, you don't have to.
Four Pillars have the perf solution to all our bev choice worries: Bloody Shiraz Gin.
Made in Australia, the distillers steep grapes in the gin for eight weeks, then press them and blend them with more gin. This creates notes of pine forest, white pepper and spices.
"2019 was a terrific season for Victorian cool climate Shiraz. And that has given us another belter of a Bloody Shiraz Gin vintage. After a good spring rain, summer brought serious heat resulting in more dominant dark fruit notes than 2018 – tons of delicious plum and blackberry. The gin is beautifully balanced with a delicious sweetness and nice tannins to finish," says the website.
The gin is unfiltered so will continue to develop in flavour, just like red wine: "‘Drink it young and fresh with red berry and spice characters, or enjoy it as it develops," say Four Pillars.
We need to try this NOW. Could not think of a better combo for these rainy weekends.
