Hilary Duff has just given us the first taste of what we can expect in the new Lizzie McGuire series and if we're being honest, it's broken our heart.
Earlier in the month, the Disney star shared the very exciting news that one of our fave shows was getting a reboot on Disney+.
The new Lizzie McGuire series will follow the now 30 year old as she navigates her seemingly perfect life in New York City.
"Lizzie has also grown up, she’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget,” Hilary said at the D23 Expo.
“She has her dream job, the perfect life right now working as an apprentice to a fancy New York City decorator, the perfect man who owns a fancy restaurant. She’s getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday.”
But if you thought by 'the perfect man' she meant Gordo from the original series, think again.
While speaking with Vulture, Duff said she wasn't that fussed about the pair not ending up together. "I feel like them not being together is what was so good … it’s that one person that you’re like, ‘Was he The One? Is it ever going to be?’ You’re always kind of wondering.”
We wanted it to hurt everyone a little bit, and it’ll continue to hurt. I really hope he’s going to be involved. We’ve been planning out the season and coming up with what everything looks like, and it’s so important for him to be there for part of it.” she continued.
