A live-action fan film of 90s cartoon 'Recess' is being made

Every 90s kid knew and loved the iconic Disney cartoon series 'Recess'. It was the best part of getting home from school in the arvo. Unfortunately it stopped airing in 2003, and we've never been the same since.

Until now. Our nostalgic prayers have been answered by some Canadian fan film makers, Jerome Yoo and Kent Donguines. The pair will release a live-action remake of 'Recess' in August, following what the kids are up to as High School students. And the best news is: it'll be FREE!

According to the description, the remake will be a "live-action, re-imagining of the gang in a high school setting tackling current issues like love, peer pressure, social media, identity, etc."

"Picture 10-year-old you sitting in front of the TV, watching TJ, Spinelli, Gretchen, Vince, Mikey, Gus, Randall, the Ashleys and the rest of the colourful cast at 3rd Street Elementary School getting up to their usual hijinks. You lay your head to rest that night and dream about being part of this group and then awake 20 years later and think: 'Hey, I wonder what happened to the Recess gang when they went to high school?' Well, YOU’RE WELCOME, because we're here to answer that question for you!" reads the synopsis.

This sounds all kinds of amazing tbh.

And the casting looks pretty spot on too! Here's a pic of the OG gang:

And don't worry, we'll also get to see the notorious girl gang back in action: The Ashley's. "SCANNNNDALOUSSSS". Here's what they'll look like in the movie:

If you want to have further stalks of the actors, here are their names: Benjamin Wadsworth will play TJ, Sean Depner plays Mikey, Louriza Tronco plays Spinelli, Lillian Doucet-Roche plays Gretchen, Fritzy-Klevans Destine plays Vince and Clive Holloway plays Gus. 'The Ashleys' clique will be played by Sydney Scotia, Brenna Llewellyn, Kelcey Mawema and Emilija Baranac, and the playground snitch Randall will be played by Adam DiMarco.

The film's currently in post production phase, but because they're doing it out of the good of their own hearts, they're running a funding page just incase anyone is kind enough to make a donation to help make the film a reality.

We honestly CANNOT wait for this and have all our fingers and toes crossed it comes together.
